- Baking Powder (2 teaspoons)
- Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)

- Heat a pot with at least 3 inches of oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornmeal, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt, mixing well.
- Add vanilla extract and milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms. Use your hands to gently shape it into a ball.
- Take small portions of dough and roll them into oval shapes, making around 12 dumplings.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully fry the dumplings until they are golden brown on all sides, which should take about 4-6 minutes.
- Remove the dumplings from the oil and let them drain on paper towels. Serve warm and enjoy!
