Ingredients

  • Mincemeat (500g)
  • Filo Pastry (12 sheets)
  • Melted Butter (1.5 cups)
  • Egg (1)
  • Tomato (1 large)
  • Spring Onions (4)
  • Garlic (1.5 tbsp minced)
  • Ginger (1.5 tbsp minced)
  • Salt (1 tsp)
  • Paprika (1 tsp)
  • Cumin (1 tsp)
  • Allspice (1 tsp)
  • Turmeric (1 tsp)
  • Black Pepper (1 tsp)
  • Sugar (1 tsp)

Instructions

Steps

  1. In a frying pan, heat some oil and sauté minced garlic and ginger. Once fragrant, add minced meat along with the salt, paprika, cumin, allspice, turmeric, black pepper, and sugar. Cook until the meat is browned, then let it cool.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine egg, chopped tomato, chopped spring onions, and the cooled minced meat mixture.
  3. Take 2 sheets of filo pastry or 1 sheet of spring roll wrap, brush it with melted butter, and place some filling in the center. Fold the pastry and brush more butter on the edges to seal.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan and cook the parcels until all sides are golden brown. Alternatively, you can brush melted butter on the parcels and bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
