Ingredients

  • Chuck Roast (1 kg)
  • Beef Stock (240 ml)
  • Lemon Juice (45 ml)
  • Ground Cumin (15 g)
  • Paprika (4 g)
  • Salt (6 g)
  • Ground Ginger (3 g)
  • Turmeric (3 g)
  • Cayenne Pepper (1.5 g)
  • Ground Cinnamon (1.5 g)
  • Ground Coriander (1.5 g)
  • Ground Clove (0.5 g)

Instructions

Steps

  1. In a dutch oven or slow cooker, combine all the spices, beef stock, and lemon juice. Stir well to mix.
  2. Add the chuck roast to the mixture, making sure to coat it thoroughly with the sauce.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours until the meat is tender.
  4. Once cooked, take out the beef and shred it using two forks, discarding any excess fat.
  5. Skim off the fat from the liquid left in the cooker.
  6. Mix the shredded beef back into the sauce and keep it warm until serving.
  7. To assemble the wrap, spread garlic sauce on a pita bread, add the beef, and include any garnishes you prefer.
  8. Fold the pita like a burrito to encase the filling.
  9. Heat a grill pan and grill the wrap until warm and slightly crispy.
