Ingredients

  • Ground Beef (1 lb)
  • Garlic (4 cloves, crushed)
  • Onion (1/2 cup, chopped)
  • Plum Tomatoes (3, diced)
  • Parsley (1 tsp, dried)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Water (1/2 cup)

Instructions

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, half of the minced garlic, and chopped onion. Mix well using your hands until everything is combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into oblong patties, approximately 1.5 inches long, creating about 12 to 14 meatballs.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the patties in batches until they are crispy on all sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Once done, place the meatballs in a serving dish.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining onion to the drippings in the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté until the onion becomes soft and translucent, around 5 minutes.
  5. Add the remaining garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds. Stir in plum tomatoes, dried parsley, and ras el hanout. Pour in water and simmer until the tomatoes are soft, about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs before serving.
