Ingredients
- Ground Beef (1 lb)
- Garlic (4 cloves, crushed)
- Onion (1/2 cup, chopped)
- Plum Tomatoes (3, diced)
- Parsley (1 tsp, dried)
- Water (1/2 cup)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
Steps
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef with half of the minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of chopped onion. Use your hands to combine thoroughly.
- Shape the mixture into oblong patties, approximately 1.5 inches long, yielding about 12 to 14 meatballs.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meatballs in batches until they are crispy on both sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Once done, set them aside on a rimmed dish.
- Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining chopped onion to the skillet drippings. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until the onion is soft and translucent, around 5 minutes.
- Add the remaining garlic and stir for 30 seconds, then incorporate the plum tomatoes, dried parsley, and ras el hanout. Pour in water and let it cook until the tomatoes are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs topped with the tomato sauce.
