Ingredients

  • Butter (1 knob)
  • Pork Chops (2 pieces)
  • Bacon (4 strips)
  • Potatoes (2 medium)
  • Carrot (1 large)
  • Swede (1/2 piece)
  • Cabbage (1/2 head)
  • Bay Leaf (1 leaf)
  • Cider (100 ml)
  • Chicken Stock (100 g)

Instructions

Steps

  1. In a casserole dish, melt a knob of butter over medium heat until it begins to sizzle. Add pork chops and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned. Once done, remove them from the pan.
  2. In the same pan, add bacon, carrot, potatoes, and swede. Sauté gently until they start to color. Then add cabbage, place the pork chops back on top, and incorporate the bay leaf. Pour in cider and chicken stock. Cover the dish and let it simmer for about 20 minutes until the pork is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender.
  3. Serve the dish straight from the casserole at the table, spooning out the contents for serving.
